County Durham Engineering and Manufacturing Network (CDEMN)

Sagetech Machinery become a CDEMN Member

We are very glad to announce that Sagetech Machinery are now official members of CDEMN.

County Durham Engineering and Manufacturing Network (CDEMN) is an organisation created to support the continued growth of over 1,000 of the companies which make up the area’s thriving engineering and manufacturing industries.

Worth millions of pounds to County Durham’s economy, CDEMN’s aim to encourage firms of all sizes to inter-trade, using local suppliers rather than outsourcing to companies elsewhere in the country; and share ideas and experiences which will ensure the engineering and manufacturing sectors continue to grow.

We have decided to become a member of CDEMN as it gives us the benefits of a range of services, such as the opportunity to meet and network with other business’ in the Engineering and Manufacturing industry from the North East. We see this as a great opportunity and couldn’t resist to grab it with both hands.

CDEMN also deliver Durham Oktoberfest, the North East’s premier engineering and manufacturing show, every year. Durham Oktoberfest 2017 is on Thursday, October 19th 2017 (9am-4pm) at The Xcel Centre in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. Now in its 10th year, Durham Oktoberfest 2017 is set to once again surpass the success of previous years.

We can also announce that we will be be exhibiting at this years show! We will provide for information on our stand and offers closer to the time. For more information on Durham Oktoberfest, click here.

FESPA 2017 Overview

Sagetech Machinery were very fortunate to attend FESPA 2017 last week in Hamburg, Germany – connecting with other great businesses from all over the world, viewing amazing 3D models & signs and learning about the amazing world of print.

FESPA is the largest international wide format event in the world, so it was an amazing experience to attend. The event lasted 5 days, Monday 8th May – Friday 12th May, but unfortunately, we were only able to attend the Tuesday and Wednesday. However, despite this, we were able to take away a lot from these 2 days and it was great fun.

The exhibition had an incredible figure of over 700 exhibiting brands on show, so it was great to have a look at them all, digest the amazing displays on show and learn about the fascinating world of print with all of the great educational information provided. As well as that, there were so many other businesses there to talk to and connect with so the experience was very valuable.

We would like to say a big thank you to FESPA for having us and putting on a fantastic exhibition as usual to not only inform and educate but also to give us the very valuable opportunity to connect with other businesses from all over the world. It was a great time!

The next FESPA exhibition will take place between 15th-18th May 2018 in Berlin, Germany and this time we are even considering, not only attending, but becoming an exhibitor ourselves – so we hope we see you there!

Now the business is expanding under the new ownership, Sagetech Machinery are becoming more customer focused, offering a tailored service, to support their clients on finding the best machine for their requirements. It is with this in mind, that Sagetech Machinery have made improvements to their ZAPKUT ZM model, to make it more efficient, for sign makers.

Prior to this years SIGN & DIGITAL 2017 exhibition the new company are extremely excited to release details about the upgraded ZAPKUT ZM VERTICAL PANEL SAW, which is manufactured by them, right here in the UK. This unique machine has been improved specifically for sign makers, which can cut sheet material such as DIBOND, FOAMEX, CORREX, PLYWOOD, ACRYLIC and PERSPEX to name just a few. This huge product development is focused on the vertical column of the machine by replacing the old bungee style system and being upgraded to the heavy duty metal pulley system similar which is also used on the industrial KOOLKUT range.

This upgrade provides a significant benefit to sign makers when cutting their 8×4 or 10×5 sheet material. The much improved system allows for a stronger, more consistent smoother cutting process across all material especially, DIBOND. Adding on the router head to the ZM machine enables the manufacture of folded DIBOND panel’s and trays on the vertical panel saw. By using the V Groove aluminium saw blade in the router head, it allows DIBOND panels to be precision cut creating a perfect fold in the tray. Sign makers then can apply their print or acrylic letters to the panel or tray and create a beautiful new sign, with little expense!

With Sagetech Machinery being FCA approved, meaning a ZAPKUT ZM VERTICAL PANEL SAW can now be purchased by sign makers on finance! With machines starting from £20 per week there is no excuse not to bring manufacturing in house with a brand new SAGETECH VERTICAL PANEL SAW.

Our phones are available until 8pm on an evening and we are now delighted to add Whatsapp and Instant messaging to our methods of communication.

Following on from our finance announcement which we were delighted to reveal in January, March brings even more good news with regard to purchasing your Vertical Panel Saw from us.

The team at Sagetech Machinery are delighted to announce that we are now an approved supplier for the Funding4Education scheme which allows for financial support and payment flexibility for our clients in the Education sector – such as  primary & high schools, colleges and universities.

Funding 4 Education are the only body, aimed specifically at supporting the Education Sector with their equipment purchases. With your own advisor, available to discuss your budgetary requirements, they work with you, to understand your situation and find the most convenient solution. They have developed various options for your Institute to choose from, to suit your budget and establish the best payment options for you and your department. More information on these options can be seen here

We have chosen to work with Funding4Education as we appreciate how difficult it can be to gain the relevant budget for your machine, when you need it. Funding4Education gives you the option to arrange your funding and begin the use of your Vertical Panel Saw prior to your yearly school budget becoming available which limits any delay and reduces inconvenience. On top of this incredible flexibility, they also allow you to choose from monthly, termly or annually payments which allows your department to fit the purchase of your machine around your budgetary requirements ensuring that your package is adapted around your needs and that you have access to your machine as soon as you need it.

Demonstrating a robust outlook

We may well be feeling a little despondent following news coverage after the Brexit ruling however, we are delighted that this does not appear to dent enthusiasm for our vertical panel saws interest continues to grow.

Keith Bunker, MD of Sagetech, Britains leading vertical panel saw manufacturer says, “so far this autumn looks to be a bumper season despite all the doom and gloom. Speaking to service suppliers and manufacturers many see Brexit as a great opportunity with many simply determined to put the great back into Great Britain. Obviously, we cannot guarantee how long we can sustain prices, as we cope with the inevitable pressure on manufacturing costs, however, we are managing to maintain prices for the time being.”

Sagetech are delighted to be exhibiting again at the renowned W16 Show this October, NEC Birmingham

The W16 Exhibition has over 40 years of heritage, and continues to grow as more components, suppliers and materials join the show, consolidating the furniture and joinery industries and inviting everyone in this field to embrace the opportunity to see all products and machinery under one roof.

Every two years the UK industry meets at this show to experience the latest in machinery, components, and materials with the emphasis on live demonstration of product and process. Much of W16 deals with the working of wood and use of timber in building. We hope to meet you there.
